Colourful blocks, red, green, blue, yellow,
differences intermingle to form structures,
alone they’re just a block, lonely perhaps, sad maybe,
but when they come together, clicking tightly to another,
someone different, those little blocks of differences create,
something that’s wonderful, something so gorgeous,
happily smiling, joyous, forgetting the differences of colour,
aiming towards a common goal, a bigger goal,
aren’t we like lego blocks?

Colourful blocks, red, green, blue, yellow,
we place one colour atop the other and create multi-coloured words, poems,
block by block, slowly, patiently, and like a proud parent,
we stare at the creation, happily, smiling.

But, oh there are times, times when blocks don’t seem to connect,
we try to create but sadly dismantle our colourful blocks,
packing it all up in a box, on the top shelf gathering dust,
but one day, our hands touch that box again, accidentally.
